Today is Ashlee's High School Graduation! I am so proud of her with how hard she as worked. She had a lot of makeup to do to graduate but was determined to get it done! Here is a picture of Cassidee's 6th grade graduation! I will have to post Ashlee's pictures later, after it is done!
Cody broke his nose! Yes, he just keeps me hoppin with his soccer injuries these days! So, we get to head to the hospital today for surgery! He will miss his soccer game tonight and is very bummed about that but will have all next week to heal since it is spring break!
Well, the boys had their first High School games on Tuesday this week! It was so much fun and so exciting...even though it snowed early that morning! We bundled up and the sun was actually out with the snow melted so it felt great! The varsity team won 1-0! Cody not only started but he played the entire game and got many great comments from the coach and other players with how well he played. We found out later that the team we played had been ranked #3 in the state which makes the win even more fun! Austin's JV team played very well, considering this was their first game together and they weren't very comfortable with each other yet. They lost 3-1 but many of the other teams players had also played on the Varsity team and so they seemed older and larger than many of our Freshman and Sophmores! Austin also started and got lots of playing time in a couple of different positions. Of course, trying to juggle everyone, I forgot my camera, twice, so I don't have any pictures to post but I will for sure take my camera to the game today and get some pictures! Today we play Orem High School, a real rival with many of the boys friends going there, and Timp has never beat them! Cross your fingers that today is the day to end the losing streak against them!
Well, Austin made the JV team! Yeah! It was very stressful for him and he actually felt sick for a couple of days and didn't eat or sleep well! I am glad that it is over and now they can just practice and get to know everyone on their new teams. Austin's team is half Ranger players so it is nice that I already know lots of them. They should have a great team!
Here is a recent poster that I made for Austin. He loves it and Cody is waiting for me to finish his so that he can hang it in his room!
Well, this week began soccer tryouts for the High School! Both of my boys were very nervous about this and of course, I have been nervous for them! Cody made the Varsity Team! Yeah! He is kind of in shock (I am not sure why?!) but very excited! He has made some great friends that are on the team and I really thing they will be amazing and may even be able to be the State Champions this year! Austin is trying out for the JV team....can be kind of tough as a freshman to make any team since there are some great Sophmores and Juniors that want to play. He has been called back to the final tryouts today! I really think that he will make it...he has been playing for ten years now, come on, but I don't blame him for being nervous. He was actually sick yesterday, he was so nervous and hadn't been sleeping well. Anyway, I continue to pray for him (he really needs this in his life) and encouraged him to just play his very best! Stay posted!
Well, Cody was finally able to go on his first date....the girl's preference dance! He went with a great girl that lives in our neighborhood and is a fellow soccer player so they have a lot in common! They went to the BYU campus for their day date and had a scavenger hunt. The girls took lots of pictures and showed the slide show of their day date later that night after the dance while drinking smoothies! She looked beautiful and Cody was very handsome! He had to borrow a suit from a friend since he has been wearing sweaters to church all winter and when he tried on his suit...it was too small! He needs to stop growing one of these days! They had a great time and I am SO glad that he got to go!
